No regret

I fell in love with this fancy giant female when i first looked at it. I bought this betta at rm$100 from uncle wong; a senior member of malaysia betta society. I tried to let it spawn with another giant male, unfortunately it was a failure. However, i have no regret to recruit this awesome and beautiful fish.

Big dorsal giant

This salamander giant betta was my latest recruit. He was simply awesome and gorgeous. I like his dorsal fin and especially purple colour spreads almost the whole fish. Hopefully, in future, i am able to breed a full-masked purple giant betta.

Blue dragon female

This blue dragon female was the only female left in the F1 spawn. I managed to let it spawn with the turquoise dragon (sibling male). This photo was taken after spawn; although there was scars on her body, but i considered the turquoise dragon was a 'gentleman'.

Real fighter

I did not quite believe this was a real fighter betta when i first bought it. I decided to let it fight with a 30% bigger betta for a try. He was first attacked by the opponent for more than 10 times, then it fought back. he liked to bite the opponent's fin and dragged the opponent down to the bottom. I stopped the fight after 20 minutes when both bettas looked tired. Sadly, the opponent died on the next day.

Turquoise dragon

This turquoise dragon was my best spawn so far. His scale was wonderful but unfortunately he was not full masked (about 95%). His fins were well balanced and have a dark colour edge which give a beautiful two-tone effect.

Strong giant

This giant betta was not handsome, but he was very healthy and strong. He had already 'married' twice and yet showed no sign of tireness. For the record, i bought this piece at rm 18.

BettaDance

His flowery fins may not be a desired one. But when he moved, it always reminded me of lion dance. He was a big brother in community tank. I chose 'BettaDance' as my blog name because of his fantastic movement.

Ugly duckling

I nicknamed it 'ugly duckling' for the first three months and did not pay any attention at all to it since it was a common bi-colour. However, i later discovered that its fins were in a good form and vibrant in colour....'ugly duckling'was gradually turning into a little beautiful swan :D

Tai Kor

He was timid and a bully victim when he was in community tank while still young. When he reached 3.5 months old, he became aggressive and a 'Tai Kor' (big brother) in his own tank.

Gold dragon

This was my latest recruit; a gold dragon halfmoon plakat. His fins has some red dots, but to me this is a plus point.

Tango

This red butterfly was hyperactive and fieace; he never afraided of bigger opponent. His move was wonderful, just like having a Tango dance.

Thai flag

This is my first 'child'; he is a tri-band and symmetrical in colour. Some called it 'Thai flag'. Unfortunately, his caudal fin was 175 degrees.

Great grand father

I bought this salamender halfmoon from Aquafair 2008 at RM40. He was a good breeder and already a father.
May 2010 update: he became a great grand father.
