Short-lived beauty

This photo was taken on 7-6-2009. This super red halfmoon female was purchased from a local aquarium. I particularly liked her super red fins. She was ready to spawn when i brought her back. But due to my inexperience in betta caring, she passed away within a month. I still feel sorry for this short-lived beauty every time i look at this photo.

Sexy Girl

She had her body covered evenly with pink colour and dressed up with well balanced bright red fins. Also, she possessed a good deportment. The most eye-catching part was her strong and sculptured body, A sexy giant girl indeed!

Unique giant

By looking at the stomach, one will probably thought this betta is female. Actually, 'she' was a male with a big round stomach after meal. The red marking made him unique. His clean body attracted me the most. For the record, he was a male giant.

Red giant

Althought he was not a perfect red giant, his fins were certainly in good form. Most of all, he was always active and aggresive.

Twin Effect

Purple betta is always my favorite. Although these two were only purple red giants, my eyes would always move with their movements. Sometime i could not even differentiate them..what a powerful "twin effect".

Opaque giant

This almost perfect opaque giant was unique; no other sibling has the same colour. However, he only has 2 rays for his caudal fin. Anyway, he will always be my special one.

Awesome female giant

This female giant betta measuring 2.1 inches (excluding caudal fin) was a favorite of mine. I like her big scale and stout body. She would have a good bunch of offsprings if i had enough time to breed it. I had freed it to Kelana Jaya (Petaling Jaya)lake. Hopefully, she would be able to find her "white horse prince" and live happily ever after.

My biggest giant

His caudal fin was lousy without question. The reason i showed this betta was because he was the biggest betta i breeded so far; measuring 2.2 inches (excluding caudal fin). He was still growing and quite aggressive. Just for fun, i would like to name it "purple fire",

Red dragon giant

I am always in love with red dragon. This platinum red dragon popped out from salamander male X red giant female spawn really surprised me. Although his fins were not in top condition, but his deportment was marvellous. I wish i could let it have some offsprings, but time not allowed. Sad story.....

Red halfmoon

I was stunned to find 4 or 5 red halfmoon bettas for sale at rm10 each in my favorite fish shop last week. Without hesitation, i grabbed this one eventhough i was supposed not to buy any more betta as i will be migrated to New Zealand in 2 months time. Anyway, i think it will be worthwhile even if it will make me happy for only two days!

Out of the blue

I was surprised to see this female appeared from red green hm M X green red hmpk F spawn. Although her fins were not in good form, but she was a 100% blue. This is the fun part of breeding betta; you can always get some special bettas "out of the blue"!

One of the kind

This one of a kind fella popped out from green salamander male x red green female. I never seen this type of betta before;reversed dorsal fin. I would like to name it 'Hawk Sky'...LOL

Cellophane halfmoon

This cellophane halfmoon has a few red dots on his fins and body. Although he was not perfectly clean, but at a purchase price of rm5.00, i think nobody will complaint about it.

180 degrees

This female was one of the seven survivals after the last catastrophe (disease striked my fish room). One consolation was that she could flare her caudal fin to 180 degrees easily. In fact, she was the first female betta breeded by me with 180 degrees caudal fin.

My 'eldest son'

He was the 'eldest son' (leader among fries) of red-blue giant male and salamander halfmoon female. I let him mated twice in two weeks. He was a proud father of about 500 fries. Most surprisingly, he came out from the two spawns without a single scratch. A truly awesome betta!
Update: 8-3-2010 he mated fourth time last week and successfully had a good spawn. Still without a single scratch, he was really my precious one.
Update: 5-5-2010 i let him mated last week, and have a good spawn yesterday, he was truly a breeder.

Silly mistake

This red orange female betta popped out from my giant-salamander spawn. She had a lump beside her stomach. I tried to let her mate with his sibling brother, hoping to pass her orange colour to the next generation. Unfortunately, she died on the following day without spawning. I would have been enjoy viewing this beautiful fish now if not of my silly mistake.
