MISS PHOTOGENIC

This green red hmpk female flared most of the time, even the minute i transfered her to photographic tank. She "catwalk" like a super model; slow and steady. She also stopped and posed, like knowing i was taking photo on her.

ORANGE JUICE 2

Although she was not pretty, she had a good bunch of pretty daughters and grand daughters. I posed her photo on blog as a tribute to her contribution.

ORANGE WINE

This red halfmoon was the product of  red-red wine(super red) mixed with orange juice(orange female). I was disappointed with the product; they were almost all red and only one male among about 80 fry. Another disappointment was the dorsal fin of this male collapsed when he reached 3 months old. :(

MALAYSIA TIGERESS

This unique fancy had  strips on her body. She was a bit shy, but i believe she would be fierce when she grows older. It would be fantastic if her body was yellow in colour, then she would look more like a tigress. I will search for a yellow male to mate with her and hopefully can get a yellow with black strips tiger in the next generation.

COPPER RED

Finally i managed to get copper red by line crossing. Their father was the 'Old but steady'. Also, i got few female copper red bettas in the same batch. I would breed them soon, hopefully, this line would be stable in the next generation. :)

RED, RED WINE

I had mixed this red wine with "orange juice" one month ago. Wonder what will the "taste" like. Anyway, will be able to see the result in one month time as there are about 70 healthy fry in this marriage.

WARRIOR

He was not a fighter betta, yet his behaviour was exactly like a fighter ; aggresive, quick to challenge a fight and flare most of the time. He had a strong build, may be because his father was a giant. I was very tempted to put him in the fighter ring, but as a betta lover, think i should not do it.

MARILYN MONROE

She was a gorgeous lady, yet to meet with his prince charming, anyone? haha! Moreover, she was a giant geno. Anyway, i like to equate her sexy appeal to US famous actress...Marilyn Monroe.

PURPLE STORM

There were four siblings looked alike. This particular one has a better finnage and almost symmetrical. The only drawback was that he was a piebald. Purple is my favorite colour. It is certainly joyful to see this purple betta with platinum effect.

SWORD TAIL

This turquoise hmpk was purchased from a local store at rm20. He was very aggresive all the time. He did not have an sword tail when young. It was only apparent when he reached about 8 months old. Hope he will pass this gene to some of his offsprings.

OLD BUT STEADY

He mated second time at the age of 9 months old, yet he was still ready to spawn 2 weeks later. His second marriage spawned a healthy batch about 50 fry. Due to my wrong judgement in timing of removing the female from spawn tank, the bride jumped out and died.

LAST MAN STANDING

This salamander butterfly halfmoon male had nothing to shout about. But, he was raised by my wife and daughter while i was away in the last six months. Moreover, he was the only survival out of about 20 fry. To survive in inexperienced hands for so long was tough. Thus, i post this betta photo so as to pay tribute to this last man standing.

ORANGE JUICE

Due to wrong timing, i did not manage to let this clean orange halfmoon betta spawn. He passed away yesterday 24-4-2011, which happened to be prince William and Kate Middleton wedding day. What a day! zzz
